Possible traveling routes to Lighthouse Lofoten
Below you will find possible traveling routes to our conference. Alternative 1 usually have the shortest travelling time and takes you directly to Svolvær where the conference takes place. The other alternatives may have a longer travelling time, but gives you the opportunity to see more of the beautiful Arctic Norway on your way.
- Oslo Gardermoen Airport – Svolvær Helle Airport:
Flight from Oslo to Svolvær. Usually connecting flights Oslo-Bodø and Bodø-Svolvær. When arriving Svolvær/Helle airport there is a 10-minute drive to Svolvær city centre. To avoid waiting time we recommend you to pre-order a taxi from Svolvær/Helle airport when you have a stopover in Bodø. Approximate travelling time is 3-4 hours from Oslo.
- Oslo Gardermoen Airport – Leknes Airport:
Flight from Oslo to Leknes. Usually connecting flights Oslo-Bodø and Bodø-Leknes. When arriving Leknes airport there is a 1-hour drive by either rental car or public bus to Svolvær. Approximate travelling time is 4,5 hours.
- Oslo Gardermoen Airport – Harstad/Narvik, Evenes Airport:

- Oslo Gardermoen Airport – Bodø Airport – Svolvær port:
Flight from Oslo to Bodø, usually a direct flight, then by boat to Svolvær. You can take the regional express routes (look to NEX II Bodo – Svolvær – Bodo timetable). Approximate travelling time is 6-8 hours.
You can also take the coastal ferry Hurtigruten from Bodø. To arrive in time for the conference you must depart from Bodø Wednesday 16.october at 15:00 pm. You will arrive in Svolvær the same evening at 21:00 pm.
Unfortunately, there are few departures with the regional express route and the coastal ferry. The journey may therefore take a while longer if your flight is not coordinated with the ferry in advance.
Please contact the flight-, bus- or ferry-company if you need assistance with your booking.
