  • Ann-Helen trained as an engineer in machinery and marine technology. She also studied Maritime Arctic Expertise at UiT and holds a master’s degree in Technology and Safety in the High North. She has worked for Nordland County Council and as a senior engineer at the Norwegian Coastal Administration’s Emergency Preparedness dpt.. She has also been the Port Director for the municipality of Vestvågøy.

  • Anett holds a Master of Science in Marine Technology from NTH, department of Marine Technology. She has previously worked as a project manager and scriptwriter for Mintra Trainingportal and Helse Midt-Norge IKT. She is employed as a Senior Advisor and her duties include project management and dissemination of subject matters . Anett works on both oil spill preparedness and marine litter.

  • Anja har masterstudier i International Environmental Studies fra NMBU og Universidad de Costa Rica. Hun har jobbet i Utviklingsfondet med klimaprosjekter, vært miljøansvarlig i Vestvågøy kommune og gjort utredningsarbeid i Samferdselsdepartementet. Ved senteret jobber Anja med OSPAR, ryddeverktøyene Rydde og Rent hav og andre områder innen marin forsøpling.

  • Gaute has worked on preparedness against acute pollution, as a private consultant and in government administration, including investigations, case management and project work. Gaute also has experience of organisational work and teaching. He is a Senior Advisor in oil spill preparedness at the centre.

  • Inger holds a master’s degree in communication studies from NTNU. She previously worked as a communications advisor at NTNU and Lånekassen. When she moved back to Lofoten, she worked for a while as a media advisor for Lofotposten before joining us in 2019. At the centre, she works on communication and dissemination within marine litter and oil spill preparedness.

  • Ingvild is a graduate engineer in industrial chemistry and biotechnology from NTNU. She has previously worked as a project manager and offshore field worker for Baker Hughes, where her main duties were well inspections. She has experience of international collaboration projects and has worked in China and Italy. At the centre, she works on both oil spill preparedness and marine litter.

  • Jann-Egil trained as a machinist at the Technical Vocational School in Bodø and as a firefighter at NBSK. For the past 16 years, he has been working in Longyearbyen as a repairman at the energy plant, head of fire and rescue operations and has been part of the security force. He started working with us in May 2020 and is a Senior Advisor within oil spill preparedness and marine litter.

  • Lars Øyvind holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Bergen. He has previously worked as a lawyer at the Norwegian Defence Estates Agency and a legal advisor at the Municipality of Oslo. Since the summer of 2020, he has been the centre’s legal counsel.

  • Lise trained in the humanities at the NTNU, has multiple years of experience as a journalist and studied as an author in Tromsø. She has worked on port and coastal management for the Norwegian Coastal Administration and wrote the book “The Port – a story about Øksnes, the Government and fishing in the north”. She works on communication and dissemination at the centre and is the web editor.

  • Mads trained as a chemical engineer at the University of Stavanger. He has previously worked as an engineer and project manager at the Municipality of Vestvågøy. He started a master’s degree programme in Technology and Security in the High North at the Arctic University of Norway in autumn 2020. Mads works in a 50% position at the centre as an advisor within marine litter.

  • Maria holds a master’s degree in Arctic Marine Biology from UiT. After completing her studies, she worked for three years within the waste industry. At the centre Maria is employed as an advisor and predominantly works on the national Rydde and Rent hav tools. She also works on waste solutions for ports, the national beach cleaning project and the Lighthouse Lofoten conference.

  • Unn er veterinær, utdannet i Spania ved ULPGC. Hun har tidligere arbeidet som klinikkveterinær, og har fordypning fra studiet innen marine pattedyr. Med fiskehelse som videreutdanning fra NMBU, og kompetanse fra meteorologi og oseanografi ved UiB, er hun klar for å arbeide med havet.
